Support

What Is Support?

Support is any assistance provided to an individual that helps them maintain their independence but may have a few difficulties throughout their everyday life. Support is available in many different forms and can be a few hours per week to a daily programme and can include:

  • Assistance with household tasks, such as cooking and cleaning.
  • Providing transportation to appointments and social activities.
  • Assisting with rehabilitation.
  • Help with social interactions.

To provide effective support with minimal intrusion on life, Browns Case Management assesses your capabilities, identifying what you can do well along with the things you struggle with or need assistance to complete. We will then create a bespoke support plan that includes goals and targets that will help you maintain your independence. We work with you to recruit experienced support workers and hire those whom you feel happy working with.

While we use the term ‘support worker,’ we understand that you may not be comfortable with such terminology. If you want your support to be known by a different title, assistant or personal assistant for example, please let us know. We are here to make your life as simple as possible.

Respecting Your Home

Our bespoke teams provide care and support in your own home. Sometimes, this can feel a little intrusive, which may result in resistance to our teams providing the help and support you need. However, we have exceptionally high standards when it comes to respecting your home and environment. If you have any concerns, particular requirements or religious, moral or ethical beliefs, our staff will respond professionally, abiding by your wishes where necessary and if safe to do so.

Absolutely. CQC are an independent regulator of health and social care services in England and we received our registration in December 2022. In the first instance, speak to the case manager who should be able to resolve any issues or concerns that you raise. In the unlikely event that your case manager doesn’t resolve the issue, you can contact the senior team here at Browns and we’ll discuss the situation with you. We hope that it won’t come to that, but you can be assured that we will listen to your concerns and be proactive in our response.
